• Hill Ascent and Descent Control
• Electronic Limited-Slip Rear Differential
• Underbody Skid Plates

Standard Performance

• The 2017 Ford Explorer uses a 3.5L V6 to supply 290 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque. That gets close to the Grand Cherokee, but can’t quite catch up.

On top of that, the Grand Cherokee can be equipped with a diesel engine for superior torque, an option that’s not available with the Explorer.
